Processing your Retirement Benefits

Upon retirement, your employee benefits end on the first of the month following your retirement date. Retiree benefits for which you are eligible start on the 1st of the month following your retirement date. An exception to this is if you retire on the 1st of the month, as your retiree benefits will commence on your retirement date.

Retirees are required to annually register with the biometric register at Secretariat office or the nearest Kenya Power Regional HR Office. The Fund has also rolled out a Voice Biometric Verification System which is recognized as the only biometric authentication method available for remote use. Where the retiree does not register by 31st of January, the retiree will be suspended from the pension payroll until they register. The retiree will then be reinstated into the payroll and paid arrears. Members are therefore encouraged to diligently take part in this exercise to avoid any interruptions in receiving their pension income.
